Amazing what a bit of low pressure can do. After that long July drought, it rained for almost a week since my last blog. You could almost hear the earth sigh as she absorbed the precious liquid. That change to the soil texture allowed us to finally get a good grip on Superberm. We spent about 6 days filling bomb holes and patching and extending berms. Don’t just take my word for it though, here are a couple messages left on the unofficial “official” Kicking Horse thread: “Superberm was in the best shape I’ve been on it!” & “Just rode Superberm today and it is MINT.”

This is a letter I had hoped I would never have to write but unfortunately we had a break in on Tuesday night. With infamous, technical courses and spanning single track, the small mountain community located in the southern Kootenay region of British Columbia was auspiciously dubbed the “Mountain Biking Capital of Canada.” After a hiatus from the competition scene, Rossland is pleased to announce the town’s first annual Fat Tire Festival September 5 and 6, 2009. The Festival will feature three events: the Dreadhead All-Mountain Challenge, Huck en Berries Bike Jam (slopestyle) and the 7 Summits poker ride.

Four Hundred Racers Compete at Canada Cup and BC Cup Downhill and Cross Country Finals

Chayse Marshall heads to World Championships in Australia

A shifting problem and a crash on the downhill course didn’t stop Sun Peaks sponsored rider Chayse Marshall from pinning it down the Canada Cup DH Course in less than four minutes over the weekend during the championship event.

If new plans for the National Cycling Center go through and funding is approved, the 110,000 square foot building will be the world’s first purpose built indoor BMX track. It will sit alongside the Manchester Velodrome with a brand new purpose built office for British Cycling located in the link building between the two venues.

Over the past years, Harley had quietly amassed a body of work that rivals that of the great riding stars of our time. Her resume includes more appearances in bike media than I can possibly remember, but some of her more memorable appearances include multiple appearances in North Shore Extreme, Kranked, New World Disorder, the Pist-n-Broke movies, as well as the Ride Guide and Drop In. She also found her way into many print publications in Canada, the US, the UK, and even Japan and Germany.
