The Sea Otter is one of the few events that offers up a really dual slalom track each year and it’s one of the hottest battles to watch year after year. This year we grabbed the camera and filmed up a banger video for everyone to enjoy.

The Sea Otter Classic is the place to see all the products that companies have kept under wraps all winter or the final production pieces of prototypes that we saw at Interbike back in September.

At the Sea Otter Classic, Pinkbike got an exclusive sneak peak of a 2010 generation II prototype Giant Reign X. Giant’s goal when re-designing the Reign X was to reduce the overall weight of the bike and try to come up with a sub 30 lbs complete package.

The crew at Yeti Cycles is well known for their unique bikes and their race teams. A lot of commitment goes into each from Yeti and their sponsors. We sat down with Yeti rider Ross Milan and his new 303R DH, to talk about the new bike and what it means to be part of the Yeti Tribe.

The all new Intense DH race bike, “The 951″ was launched at the Sea Otter Classic this weekend. Aimed at the consumer, the 951 is ready for any race course or trail that you like to ride to get your gravity fix on!
Expect to see these bikes in shops by late June, but for now, check out all the pics inside:

The clouds were thick, but no rain fell and the sun emerged to change the pigments of our skin from pasty white to bright red! Gotta love the Otter!

After 12 straight hours of driving we were greeted to Monterey, California. Tyler had driven the piss out of the I5 (and maybe missed an exit or three), but we arrived at the Beach Dunes Inn at 2:30am. After signing in, and sleeping till 10:30am we were ready to get the day started.
Here’s a small update on what happened on day 5 of our Sea Otter trip.

Chainlink Productions is proud to announce the world premiere of their latest title, “Barred For Life”, a full-length mountain bike movie featuring the Rockstar Energy Drink team with special guests. The movie will be premiered on Saturday, April 18th at the Monterey Conference Center in the Steinbeck Forum. The doors will open at 7pm, with the world premiere kicking off at 8pm.

Against a background of news from the first round of the World Cup happening in South Africa, this weekend saw Borderline’s Mike Marsden put on an early season warm up race on the open Welsh hillside of Moelfre.
